The Annual Members’ Day is an opportunity for those who may not normally get the chance to drive the hill to come and have a go in a relaxed atmosphere with fellow members and friends.
Run as a non-competitive day the Members are invited to enter using road legal cars, ranging from specialist kit cars and classic sports cars to everyday standard saloons.
Members are allowed to invite guests who can also take part in the event, either in their own car or sharing a car.
Passengers are now allowed to come and join in too at a cost of £5 for the day, car-hopping is also allowed so passengers are not restricted to rides in one car if they are invited to go in others.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the hill which Members so often watch in awe as championship contenders tackle the hill.
After the day’s driving, there will be an informal car show in the paddock from 5pm into the evening where members can bring along their cars to show for free. All varieties of cars are welcome and they are not expected to be to concours standard! There will be various prizes awarded (prizes and judges to be confirmed). Please use the same application form as for the day to enter the car show.
Testimonials from 2016:
“Just a quick email to say thanks for last Friday, another very enjoyable day with lots of great cars, nice people and excellent weather”
“I had a great day yesterday at the Members day and in glorious sunshine too! Please convey my thanks to all the organisers and those marshalling the event. As one of only a few motorcycle entries on the day it was a bonus to allocated a paddock space next to Trevor Willis who was taking advantage of giving a couple of his motorcycles a run up the hill for a change to his four wheeled championship exploits. What a nice friendly chap he is.”
“I haven’t been on a starting line for over 40 years but the years rolled away when that green light came on. This was what my car had been built for and boy it was going to have its day. Apex’s all hit, no brakes were used, and gearbox did what it’s supposed to do. The nature of all in batch 1 made me feel in my teens again and we all had things in common, plus many of the friends from the club lounge half way up the hill were there. What a day I had and can you please put me down for the next one of these events. The fuel used was about the £25 for the day and boy was it worth that. Can you please thank all involved and to the marshals that could hear my voice shouting at myself. I hope that the odd swear word did not come out.”
“A quick note to say thanks to everyone for a great day yesterday – everyone seemed to drive well and enjoy the hill. Weather helped, clearly, but the organisation made the day!”
“Thank you to you and all the people who made it a fabulous day. Everything went smoothly apart from the one incident.”
