Sporting Trials Taster Day, 11th March at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb
Have you ever wondered what it is like to drive a modern Sporting Trials car?
We will be running a masterclass for novices, using top line winning modern cars, with their owners as instructors.
We start from the basics, use of fiddle brakes and steering with one hand and so on.
The importance of delicate throttle control will be taught, and the use of smooth acceleration to gather momentum.
In the morning we will start with a simple slalom on almost level ground, gradually moving towards steeper hills, tight turns using fiddle brakes and so on.
Only two novices will share each car so every participant will get 50% of all the driving, lasting from 10.30 to about 16.00hrs with a break for lunch.
By the end of the day you will compete in a Mini Trial using some steeper slopes, with penalty points for failing!
A very full day.
It is run under an MSA Taster Permit so no paperwork or licence is required, and MSA insurance applies after signing on.
