Sunrise Sprint Championship
SUNRISE SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP
The MAC initiated its first ever Championship in 2016 based around the 6 Sprint events that MAC organised for the season. It has been developed further for the 2017 season.
The championship will consist of 7 rounds for 2017, with the 6 best point scoring rounds counting towards the final score.
The championship is open to all members of clubs that are registered with the Association of West Midlands Motor Clubs, and simply requires each competitor to register using the ‘Championship Registration Form’ listed below. Regulations for the Championship are available below, the classes for the championship will be defined by the ‘on the day’ event class listings. Points are awarded based upon your performance in your class, so any of the classes can produce the overall champion for the year.
All registered competitors will be scored in accordance with the general class applicable to the event on the day and will be scored taking into account all the cars competing in that class including cars that are not registered in the Sunrise Sprint Championship.
A formula will then be applied as follows:
1st = 12 points
2nd = 10 points
3rd = 8 points
4th = 7 points
5th = 6 points
6th = 5 points
7th = 4 points
8th = 3 points
9th = 2 points
10th = 1 point
The number of points above will then be multiplied by the number of cars in the class and divided by 10. The number of cars in the class is defined as the number of cars in that class that have set at least one time in a practice run or timed run.
The overall winner of the Championship will receive a trophy and 3 free entries into the Championship in the following year. 2nd in the Championship will receive a trophy and 2 free entries into the Championship in the following year 3rd in the Championship will receive a trophy and 1 free entry into the Championship in the following year
