Clee Hills Trial 2021 is going to be a little different to previous years, with the implications of COVID-19, But we plan to run as close to a traditional trial as we can. The will be just under 75 road miles and at least 10 sections, mostly old favourites, but with possibly one new one, and one old “returnee”. There will be Classes for Two, Three and Four wheelers. The route will be straight forward, no figure of eight two loop system this year. Everyone will do all the same hills, but with Class O missing out those deemed not suitable. Bikes will be expected to have lights, unless running in Class X. Once again we will be offering the option of Shared Drives, this is NOT double-running, the car gets one score regardless of which person drives the section, rather like the drivers in long-distance sports car racing.
The start is once again at The Squirrel in Ludlow, with the Travelodge next door one on side, and petrol at the Co-op on the other side. Could a start be more convenient? Signing On, and Scrutineering will be carried out electronically as per the current regulations, but we will have an official wandering around the carpark making random checks. All cars will be required to carry a passenger but so long as the driver is happy that the person alongside them is in their bubble there will be not further restrictions (subject to any change in Government/Motorsport UK/ACU recommendations).
As this will be the first ACTC event since the reclassification of Dellows, it is worth recapping where they fit. Side-Valve cars on crossplies – Class2; Side-Valve cars on Radials - Class 5; OHV engined Cars - Class 7.
