Shelsley Walsh is go for 2018 British Championship Visit - June 2nd & 3rd

Shelsley Walsh sees the first visit of the fastest cars in the British Hill Climb Championship vie for the top spot on the world famous hill this Sunday, 3rd of June. Reigning Champion Trevor Willis is looking to better his personal best of 23.11 seconds at Shelsley to stay ahead in this year’s title chase which has seen him take three wins and four second places from eight rounds of the 2018 British Championship so far. If he can do a 22 second run up Shelsley’s world famous hill climb on Sunday, then he’ll join a very select club that at present only has three drivers in it after 113 years of competition at Shelsley Walsh. Last year’s fastest man up Shelsley, Will Hall, is second in the ti

Austin Healey Sprite 60th Birthday

It was beautifully sunny day for the Austin Healey event, celebrating 60 years of the Austin Healey Sprite car. Over 70 Austin Healey’s turned up on the day, many of which went up the famous hill. They had 1920’s singers entertaining the spectators in the courtyard whilst they had their lunch in the sun. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their day and it is always great to see so many happy faces here at Shelsley. A warm thanks to the Austin Healey Club for joining us and to the marshal’s for all their help on the day.

Bugatti Owners Club Visits Shelsley Walsh

29 fantastic Bugatti Cars arrived at Shelsley Walsh on Friday to drive the hill before and after lunch as the opening part of their long weekend tour. It included several overseas visitors and everybody enjoyed a fish & chips lunch prepared by Trefor in the restaurant on this beautifully sunny day. Interestingly several participants had never been to Shelsley before and comments such “I hadn’t realised how beautiful it is” were heard amongst the drivers and passengers. MAC and SW have made many new friends as a result of this visit. BOC – you are welcome at any time you are passing near to the Teme valley.

First Black Plate Wednesday of the Year

Shelsley’s traditional afternoon tea party took place on a dry but slightly overcast Wednesday with full attendance and the presence of some fabulous cars to add to the occasion. This first BPW of the year took place up at the Member’s enclosure halfway up the hill and the use of the marquee made all the difference. The next Black Plate Wednesday will take place in the Courtyard on the 20th June where Champagne will once again be offered on arrival.

Bromyard Speed Festival on Tour to Shelsley Walsh

When Bromyard Speed Festival decided to run an event at Shelsley Walsh in the gap year between running in the streets of Bromyard, we didn’t know what to expect. We thought some Shelsley fans would turn up out of curiosity and it was hoped that the event would appeal to some of those who had enjoyed the street parades in 2016 and 2017. What happened was way beyond the organiser’s wildest expectations. We had hoped for 300-400 spectators, we had more like 1200-1500. Drivers and spectators were thrilled with the feel of the event, the wide and eclectic range of vehicles on show, (fast becoming the DNA of BSF events), the efficiency of the organisation, the good food and drink available. Vendigital hire SW for entertaining their clients

VENDIGITAL is one of the biggest and most successful Business Management Consultancies in the UK. Based in Bristol, they chose Shelsley Walsh as their location to entertain many of their clients from all around the UK. The style of the day was a close copy of our very successful Driver’s School with ‘hands on’ tuition and excellent hospitality supplied by Trefor in the Stratstone Restaurant. The day went so well that they immediately stated their intention to return and new girl Katy De Cothi should be congratulated for managing everything and supervising on the day. Also thanks to our own Driving School team who did a great job of keeping everybody happy.

Sun Shines for first Competitive Weekend of the Year

Robert Kenrick put his name in the 113 year old history books of Shelsley Walsh by setting Best Time of Day at the season opening Speed into Spring meeting on May 6th. Now into his second year driving his BMW 1000RR bike powered GWR Raptor single seater, the former Midland Hill Climb Champion is set for a full season of giant killing with his baby blue car as he utilised it’s agility through the Esses to set the fastest split time through the two corners even though he ultimately gives top speed away on the long straight. 25.17 seconds was his outright winning time, an incredible feat considering the class record 12 months ago for his up to 1100cc category was nearly a second slower. “It mea
