Like many organisations, The Midland Automobile Club (MAC) is following the advice given by the Government and Motorsport UK. In a statement issued by Motorsport UK yesterday, they advised they will be suspending all organising permits and Certificates of Exemption until at least 30th April 2020. Whilst this is clearly disappointing news for all our members, competitors and spectators, we think the situation is very likely to continue beyond this point and will not improve until the predicted peak of the COVID-19 infection has passed. Statement from the Midland Automobile Club 13 March 2020 Like many organisations that run live events, the Midland Automobile Club and Shelsley Walsh are in the process of looking at our event calendar and making contingency plans around the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. At the moment, it is very much business as usual at Shelsley Walsh – all previously planned events will be going ahead unless we receive further advice from the UK government. We're calling on the motorsport community to help reunite the ‘Shelsley Specials’ – unique cars created specifically to earn the best time of day on the venue’s challenging hill – in time for our Reg Phillips meeting in July.
