Fantastic Finale at Shelsley Walsh
Alex Summers, British champion in 2015, produced the second fastest run ever up Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb on Sunday to complete an amazing weekend of motor sport action in the Autumn Speed Finale staged at the historic venue. Summers had already set the Best Time of Day on Saturday, but on the final run on Sunday produced a blistering time of 22.71 seconds in his DJ Firestorm racing car, only just short of the outright hill record of 22.58 set in 2008 by Martin Groves. Sean Gould gets so close to the Shelsley record
Two spectacular near-record runs by top drivers provided the perfect highlight for fans when Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb welcomed spectators to its track for the first time this year for two days of exciting action at the weekend. Former British champion Alex Summers clocked a time of 22.83 in his DJ Firestorm to break the ‘23 seconds barrier’ but was pipped by racing car constructor Sean Gould in the latest Gould GR59 model who crossed the line in 22.73 seconds. We're open for all at Shelsley Walsh
Spectators will be allowed for the first time this season at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, near Worcester this weekend (12/13th SEP) when a wide range of cars will take to the track in earnest to race against the clock. Event organisers Midland Automobile Club have been staging small events on a trial basis over the past couple of months, which have been hailed a great success, by ensuring social distancing throughout the venue where competitors and spectator members were kept
