Classic Nostalgia Returns for 2020!

Our annual celebration of pre-1980 cars and flagship event returns to Shelsley Walsh on 20 and 21 June 2020, and this time, it’s all about the swinging 60s.

A true era of innovation and style for British motoring, the 60s produced some of the most memorable cars in our automotive history. Among those is the key marque for 2020’s event – the incomparable Lotus.

Lotus Cars have been revered both on the road and on the track for decades, and it was the 60s that truly cemented their position as an iconic marque. The Lotus Elan was the toast of the town when it launched in 1962. The first Lotus road car to use a steel backbone chassis and a fibreglass body, it found fame in The Avengers and became one of the most beloved roadsters of the decade.

In the world of motorsport, Lotus dominated the F1 scene, with remarkable performances in F2 and Formula Junior as well. Stirling Moss claimed the first Lotus F1 win in 1960 in his Lotus 18 while racing for Rob Walker Racing Team, but it was Jim Clark that put the Lotus name well and truly in the record books by winning the 1963 World Championship in his Lotus 25, placing first in seven out of ten races – an unprecedented achievement.

We can’t wait to celebrate everything this classic marque has to offer at Classic Nostalgia, but there’ll be plenty of love for other 60s marques as well, with specialist car club displays and a classic car park. As always, Classic Nostalgia will feature competition for pre-1980s cars, demonstrations, parades, live music, entertainment and great food.

Tickets are on sale now – to book please click here. If you’re part of a classic car club with a focus on 60s marques and would like to book your place at the show, please get in touch by calling 01886 812211 or emailing info@mac1901.co.uk
