Into July at Shelsley Walsh

This July at Shelsley Walsh has so much to offer for everybody who loves cars, a chilled atmosphere of fantastic motorsport, great views of the Worcestershire countryside and cool times.

Starting on the 1st July, we’ve an Italian themed evening of Cars In the Valley with 'auto Italiano’ given priority parking in the main part of the paddock in the first of our themed events that will roll out in the summer of 2021.

Then just two days later on 3rd July there will be action on the hill with the Reg Phillips meeting for club motorsport before the Vintage Day on Sunday 4th July where the cars of the 1920s and 30s will be retracing their steps up Shelsley that they made nearly 100 years ago. Some of the stand out cars of that history will be present with Spider I and II on track together with a Bugatti T51 and an ERA. However beforehand on Saturday evening 3rd July there will be the launch of the new book all about the Spider cars with Basil Davenport’s son, Peter, who will bring some of the original solid silver trophies that his father won in the 1920s.

Sunday 11th July is the Breakfast Club with a mouth watering array of cars in the paddock for coffee and breakfast before people can disappear home to watch the Wimbledon final in the afternoon and the Euro 2020 final in the evening.

Then we have Classic Nostalgia on July 17th and 18th, our big event of 2021 that’s back after a year’s break where the very best Shelsley Walsh atmosphere will return as spectators are welcome to a weekend where access is available on the hill and in the paddock for everybody.

40+ Group B, A and WRC rally cars will be present to celebrate Richard Burns’ WRC victory from 2001 with his very Safari winning Subaru WRC from 2000 being brought by Prodrive. Sir Stirling Moss’ Ferrari SWB will give charity rides up the hill, a plaque to Murray Walker will be unveiled, a return of Shelsley history with ERA R4D, big Can Am cars, F1 cars and the 1911 FIAT Beast of Turin on track plus the Battle of Britain fly past will be overhead on both days. Elsewhere there's live music, trade stands, car club displays and a Concours D’Elegance to all be part of what promises to be a great weekend.

Then the last weekend of July will see our Summer Spree weekend with action for club motorsport including the first visit of the AUTOCAR Shelsley Walsh Young Drivers Championship to the hill.

Further dates for August and the return of the thrilling British Hill Climb Championship and then our Autumn Speed Finale are all on our website.

It’s still great value to become a member of the Midland Automobile Club who run Shelsley Walsh for 2021 as £105 gets you two hard card season passes and free entry for two people to all events we run on the hill at Shelsley Walsh.
