Shelsley Walsh open for spectators
We’re open for spectators this weekend as we welcome the British Hill Climb Championship to the spectacular surroundings of Shelsley Walsh for the first time since August 2019. The Shelsley team have worked hard to enable fans of motor sport and hill climbing to be trackside to see the world’s fastest hill climb cars vie for top honours over the weekend that culminates in the thrilling Top 12 Run Offs on Sunday June 6th where the quickest action will take place at speeds of over 140mph.
The stage is perfectly set with the top runners as reigning champion Wallace Menzies has already taken five wins from six rounds to top the championship table ahead of the fastest man up Shelsley Walsh in 2020, Alex Summers with Sean Gould right on his tail in third making it nearly impossible to pick a winner for Shelsley this weekend with each driver having experience, speed and machinery advantages on the Worcestershire hill.
Porches, Ferraris, Lotuses and a huge array of mouth watering machinery will be there too amongst the beautiful Teme Valley which is now in full summer bloom to give the perfect vista for all so come and enjoy the view, the thrill and the excitement of speed hill climbing at its best.
Practice is on Saturday June 5th with the main action taking place on Sunday June 6th from 9am. Gates open at 8am. MAC Members have access into all Shelsley Walsh events but have to register their attendance on the same page on the allocated drop down for each day. Under 16 year olds are welcome to attend for free.
The car park and spectator areas will be open to all, however due to the latest Motorsport UK guidelines the paddock will only be open to drivers and officials. As frustrating as this is, we have to abide by all the rules in place to enable the event to take place.
