About The Event

Bromyard Speed Festival On Tour 2018 is visiting the world famous Shelsley Walsh motoring venue, between Bromyard and Great Whitley on 13th May 2018. This is the oldest motoring venue in the world and is just 10 miles from Bromyard.

When it was decided not to hold the next BSF street event until 2019 we thought long and hard what we might do in 2018 as an alternative to avoid having a blank year. The idea of renting Shelsley Walsh for the day was the result.

We will be inviting up to 140 cars and bikes to feature at Shelsley on 13th May 2018. Each vehicle will have two runs up the track in the morning and two more in the afternoon. Where feasible vehicles can also take a passenger on the runs. The cost per vehicle is £50 and online applications will be opened shortly. The day runs from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm with a 1 hour lunch break around 1.00 pm.

Note that all drivers, riders and passengers must wear helmets. A limited number of helmets will be available to hire on the day.

The cars we invite will include some of those who have supported our previous events, as a thank you. There will also be vehicles not seen before and the overall mixture will be as for the previous street events: classics, single seaters, rally cars, old, new, grand and humble – but always interesting.

We particularly want to see drivers who wouldn’t normally visit racing venues to be able to gain a new experience and maybe even get a taste for racing. This is a non-competitive, untimed event so everyone can go at the speed they are comfortable with.

We also want to encourage spectators to come and watch, particularly anyone who has not previously visited Shelsley Walsh. The paddocks will be open to view the cars and bikes entered. Viewing points along the track will let you see the action up close and bars, restaurants and trade stands will help fill the day. Car park opens at 8.00 am.

Parking for spectators will be charged at £10 per vehicle irrespective of number of passengers. Entrance to the venue and the paddocks is free.
