With the hill climb year drawing to an end, a festival atmosphere is expected at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb in Worcestershire this coming weekend (13/14 Sep) when drivers can take advantage of a season’s hard driving to hopefully produce their best performances in close competition.
Aptly named Harvest Festival, the two one-day events will see a wide range of invited championships taking part, along with the usual eclectic array of classic, saloon, sports and racing car classes.

Classic & Historic Cars Set for Championship Showdown
Both days will see practice runs in the morning followed by timed competition runs in the afternoon, with 20 cars entered into the Paul Matty Sports Cars Lotus Championship, 15 Austin Healey cars in the Healeysport Speed Championship and favourites including BMW 2002, Mini Coopers and Lotus Elan variants in the National Historic Speed Club Championship.
The Classic Marques Championship hosts a diverse class of competition with cars such as Triumph GT6, Mazda MX5, Marcos, TVR Tuscan, GTM Libra and Toyota MR2 in close competition on a handicap-based scoring system. Also attending are several Cooper cars in the 500 Association Speed Championship.

Porsche Club Speed Championship
Adding to the mix over the weekend are 18 cars in the Porsche Club Speed Championship and a dozen cars in the Morgan Sports Car Club Techniques Speed Championship, so plenty to see on the hill and in the paddock for all!

Champions in Action
Former British Hill Climb champion Trevor Willis will be having a guest drive, joining fellow local driver Lindsay Summers, in the family DJ Firestorm, usually campaigned by another former champion, Alex Summers.

Non Stop Hill Climb Action
On Sunday, there are large road going classes and car number 33, Simon Dudfield could be the one to watch in his very smart Lotus Elise in the under 2,000cc class, while improving driver Steve Atkins is probably top seed for the over 2 litre class in his BMW M2 Competition.
