2021 SUNRISE SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP

Championship will consist of 14 rounds for 2021, with the 9 best scoring rounds counting towards the final score.

The Championship is open to all members of clubs that are registered with the Association of West Midlands Motor Clubs, and simply requires each competitor to register using the ‘Championship Registration Form’ listed below. Regulations are available below. The classes for the Championship will be defined by the ‘on the day’ event class listings. Points are awarded based upon your performance in your class, so any of the classes can produce the overall Champion for the year.

Scoring Points:
All registered entrants/competitors will be scored in accordance with the general class applicable to the event on the day and will be scored taking into account all the cars competition in that class including cars that are not included or registered in the Sunrise Speed Championship. A formula will then be applied as follows:

1st - 12 points
2nd - 10 points
3rd - 8 points
4th - 7 points
5th - 6 points
6th - 5 points
7th - 4 points
8th - 3 points
9th - 2 points
10th - 1 point

The number of points above will then be multiplied by the number of cars in the class (maximum 5) and divided by 10. The number of cars in the class is defined as the number of cars in that class that have set at least one time in a practice run or timed run.

A competitor will receive 2 extra points for beating the Sunrise Sprint Championship class record at an event where there has been a round of the Championship before.

The overall winner of the Championship will be the competitor who has accumulated the most points in their best 9 events.
