Memories Catering – Shelsley Walsh

It has been a busy start for the club preparing for the 2023 season and we are very excited to formally announce our new catering partner, Memories Catering . We have a full calendar of motorsport and social events to come. Already the Memories team have delivered several functions, including our local Shoot Dinner, Marshals lunch and our first few Breakfast Clubs in our refreshed Courtyard restaurant.

Wayne Martin is the driving force and MD of Memories Catering and is eagerly looking forward for the debut season at Shelsley Walsh. He is keen to meet as many members and visitors to the site as possible and would welcome feedback from everyone using their services. Wayne has a wealth of knowledge within the hospitality sector. From overseeing multimillion-pound gastro pub operations, working at exec level within the world’s leading food service provider, to flying the world with Formula 1. The experience and knowledge gained has put Wayne in a great position to lead Memories Catering and the partnership with Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb.

Working with the Memories team, Midland Automobile Club has made some significant investment in the kitchen equipment and layout to ensure we can offer the best service for everyone.

Wayne had the following to say, “it’s a real privilege for Memories Catering to have been awarded the contract to provide all things food at the iconic Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb, a venue steeped in glorious motorsport history.

Working closely and collaboratively with the club’s management team, we have a plan and a vision to deliver the best-in-class food offer for the site, with members and visitors at the core of our decision making.

As you will see when you visit, several significant changes have been made to the site, a new look and feel “Courtyard”, which is the main dining hub. The pit area has also been given a new lease of life and we have plans for further development as the season continues. We will also be offering Members a 10 % discount on the refreshments served in the ‘Members’ area’ on the hill .

As a company, provenance is everything to us, we use the amazing farms, local artisan suppliers and growers around the beautiful Worcestershire area. We believe this makes a difference to the end product and helps in creating amazing first-class food. As a company we believe keeping it local supports our local economy and also helps reduce our carbon footprint.”
